Worst sounding CDs I've heard in years or maybe ever

71.215.123.71

A couple of months ago I bought 3 CDs from Amazon that have got to be the absolute worst recordings I've ever heard. These are not tolerable in the car or even the boombox in my garage. 2 CDs were by Elton John and the third by The Police. The titles are not nearly as important as the fact that they were all designated as " Original Recording Reissued" after the title on the ordering page. I thought nothing of it at the time, but now know better. What prompted to post here is that just today a friend mentioned he'd gotten Jethro Tull's Aqualung "Original Recording Reissue" for Christmas. He said it was "unlistenable".We both agreed on what we have heard from these recordings.....total lack of bass and body in the content coupled with highs that will send you fleeing.Basically the sound of very bad early digital played thru a 1960s transistor radio.
I post here as to warn fellow inmates and also see if anyone else has discovered these sonic disasters. For all I know, we may have gotten the only 4 lousy CDs , but I highly doubt it.
