Please name all dealers who allow a one-month audition. None of these exist any longer in my local area. In fact, demos consist of the following in my local area;(1) Dealer brings equipment to your house. Usually when it is convenient to him which means you could wait up to 3 weeks for the audition. (My most recent experience with a local dealer who I have spent over $30,000 with in 3 years). The dealer makes it clear that you are not a priority unless you are spending in excess of $100,000 with him annually.
(2) Said Dealer sets up equipment and allows 30 minutes to 1 hour in your home environment for total demo experience.
(3) Said Dealer really desires to play his LPs or CDs of choice. However, he will play yours if you consistently insist.
Here's my response: No, thank you. I will purchase from dealers on the internet. Goodwin's High End recently allowed an audition of two (2) demo pieces for 2 to 4 weeks, and they have earned my business for ever. Will they be my exclusive dealer? Yes, if they have the particular piece of equipment I am wanting to purchase.
We have one local dealer who is wonderful but he also does not allow extended auditions. 2 days maximum during his off business hours.
