Hi people...
I'm new to this forum board and I was just wondering if anyone could explain to me what could be wrong with my new headphones I just purcahsed. I have a Rotel RA-02 Amp a Rotel RCD-03 CD player plus a Rotel RB-06 all playing through B&W DM603 S3 speakers. I recently (onoy last week) invested in a pair of Sennhiser HD595 headphones due to may favourable reviews I had read on many audiophile websites and forums. But for some strange reason... if I turn up the volume up to just over quarter way.... the sound starts breaking up. I have been into my supplier who ordered a new pair of headphones claiming it must be a faulty cable etc... but I brought mine in and they worked fine on the amps in the shop... not ROTEL.. Yamaha, Cirrus, Denon.... so it mustn't be the headphones... he gave me a cheaper pair to try and they did last more than quarter volume... but up about half the sound disintegrated. I love the sound from them... but after paying so much money I hate the fact that I cannot turn them up much. Now in saying that... I wouldn't be listening to music at a crazy volume anyways... but I would be worried they might get broken due to an accidental increase in volume etc...Can anyone shed any light as to what might be happening... I really like the headphones and I don't want to give them back.... but I also wanna get what I paid for.
