I'm in Canada so phoned the Can. distributor who basically redirected me to APC US headquarters.
Techinical support was extremely helpful, they want the unit back so that they can investigate the problem. They also are forwarding a new unit to me today. Excellent service.
My unit is just the small APC5 but I would caution anyone with any APC unit to test the outlets on the back of their unit just in case this is a larger problem than expected.
