The one difference I noticed right away is that the Duet isn't available with a HumBuster (which you may or may not need, depending if you have stray DC on your line). I owned the UPC-200HB, and it worked decently in my second system. Sorry I can't help in offering sonic comparisons. I'm sure you'll find plenty of folks who can. Good luck.
