SACD sounds more natural to me and less distracting

When comparing equivalent SACDs and CDs on my system, for recordings which do the formats justice, I often find that SACD images are more three dimensional whereas CD images are more like 2D projections in a 3D space. Also, the CD images sometimes have unnatural "etching" or outlining that is not present or less noticeable with the SACD. Overall, the CD presentation can sometimes seem a bit "cartoon-like" in comparison to the SACD. Maybe because I'm a very visual listener, I generally find the SACD presentation to be more natural.

SACD is also better at reproducing cymbals to my ears. I've made comparisons where the cymbals on the SACD seemed to have a natural sounding shimmer while the same cymbals on the CD had more of a swish. Or in other cases, fast cymbal hits that were just a flat tizz on CD had a little more distinct initial hit and decaying ring on SACD.
