There is a big difference in the vocal delivery and facial expressiveness between when pitch-correction is used and when it isn't used.When it is used, it seems like the vocal delivery is restricted to syllables and dynamic range that don't risk "fooling the correction tool" into doing something really strange. The singer also has to constantly hold his/her head still and keep it a specific distance from the microphone.
Hence the vocalists are more fixated on the microphone and detached from the audience. Reduced to being robots themselves. It's sad.
