Yes, I was definitely listening to SACD sound rather than the music, and it took a while before I was willing to admit to myself that many CDs sounded better than many SACDs, and vinyl still sounded better than both, and the MC discs were at least borderline annoying (the ones using MC for more than ambience). So I dismantled the MC setup and now listen to SACDs as just another format, occupying maybe 5% of my listening time. Needless to say, YMMV :-)
