Listening then, is for selecting the right speaker.
That is both: objectivity and subjectivity
If one can not use one I would think of it as a handicap.
If one can not get good objective data ask for them, like that “flat†speaker. Ask for high resolution of the sweep ( not the 1/3 oct. , but 1/64 or higher) , and one can tell a lot of what is going on.
