You make an interesting observation, Bob. In my experience, every time there's a shift in presentation--in this case, maybe more detail, spatial information, etc.--I initially tend to focus on that rather than the music. It's easy, and probably natural, to do. But, in my case, this usually passes quickly, and I'm back to groovin' to the tunes once that little sense of audio "vertigo" passes. :)
