Accuphase has pin 3 as "hot" on their equipment. This used to be the standard used for pro audio. Then about 10 years ago the IEC recommended that pin 2 be "hot". So there has been a slow convergence towards this standard. However, if you have a fully Accuphase system (or other brand that uses pin 3 as "hot", such as Rowland), then polarity will be preserved.
