Hey maybe an idea for a review, a comparison of your current favorite against something with “audiophile†pretenses. Perhaps something like the active PMC AML 1 which PMC offers under both “Hi Fi†and “Professional†categories (AFIAK the same product in both cases).And there’s no doubt about the “audiophile†pretenses, they even boast (on their site) about the capacitors (called OS-Con) they use in key areas of the crossovers and power amplifiers. They also boast of sub-35Hz performance which would be quite a feat given the modest size of the speaker; investigation of this would also make for an interesting juxtaposition against the September 1998 review of the PMC IB-1S loudspeaker which despite a claim of even lower bass performance was found somewhat lacking in that regard (according to my reading of the review anyway).
