My daughter has Altec Lansing satellites-Sub system connected directly to CD player.There was too much boom and she placed the sub face down on some books and placed some books over it too.There is no separate volume control for the sub.Now the system sounds really good.And to tease me she claims it sounds better than my old HK-Technics system.I have a nagging feeling she is right!But I am happy she has started comparing systems.
