While the Quads have been replaced by three subsequent models and the LS3/5a built by a half-dozen other companies (supposedly to original specs), a great many folks still believe the original models remain the best.Slightly different would be Vandersteen who has continually upgraded basic models over the years while staying with the basic design concept for each respective model. A given version may stay in production for years. The latest version may be the best but they always follow the basic concept of the original.
Many other manufacturers seem to follow the Detroit concept that new models are needed each year to stimulate consumer interest.
