Many photographers have never printed the majority of the photos taken with film. They may print contact sheets of rolls, but only make prints of their best shots.

With digital, I can take thousands of photos for free. Most are throwaways, but there are a few gems, and with my $100 ink jet printer i can print, myself, the shots I want to have around. And because I print them myself I can rotate my stock whenever I like. Very nice!

However, even though I do religiously back up my photos (and music) I still worry about losing them. But, that's just how it is.

BTW I buy the CDs then rip them. I don't down load music A) because most of it is compressed and B) DRM.
