I don't know if it is break in or something else but a tube preamp or amp will change over the first 15 minutes of play getting better as it goes. It will slightly improve further in the next hour or two and then level off. I call this warm up, not break in.

I have had speakers improve over the first few months, sounding tipped up at first and getting fuller sounding as the surrounds loosen up.

Both of these are easy to hear and explain.

I have never heard cables improve over time, but I won't say that it doesn't happen. I just haven't heard it with the ones I have tried in my system.
