Looks like David and Mike may have "somewhat" differing opinions about the Merlin room. I understand personal preferences, but how two apparently experienced people in audio can walk into the same room and leave with completely opposite opinions of the experience is really interesting. It would be interesting for them to describe what they liked, and didn't, about that setup.That's a good example of how confusing this entire process can be for people looking for the "right" gear for them. From my perspective, "right" is right. I know it when I hear it, and I'm not yet convinced that personal perference has much to do with someone thinking a system sucks and someone else thinking it's great. You may prefer one over the other, but I don't think 2 systems doing "right" are that far off from one another...
