I don't know if they still do this today, but back in the 80's and 90's, the British magazine Hi-Fi Choice used to compare products (speakers, amplifiers, cd players) in controlled, blind listening tests, and their panel would write what they heard. Guess what, the panel heard differences among amplifiers and cd players!My best advice for anyone interested in audio: Trust your own ears and listen for yourself. Don't let someone else tell you how something sounds or what you can and cannot hear.
