for the GSIC-30The Golden Sound Intelligent Chip is an extremely effective product that somehow improves the performance of digital discs by exposing them to some sort of "exotic" material.Treatment is accomplished by putting chip atop a player and playing disc for two seconds. Please read the manufacturers web page for an explanation of how this product works. It is curious to say the least, but work it does.
The improvements I've noticed are:
Greater resolution
Better dynamics
Improved spatial presentationI have treated 25 discs so far and have noticed an improvement on every title treated. It seems that the treatment works more magic on some titles compared with others, but I've found the treatment valuable in every case. I am particularly enamored with how this device improves the spatial presentation.
This is an amazing device and, in my estimation, well worth worth the cost at $1.33 per application.
This will probably be a controversial product that many will dismiss out of hand. As for myself, I am really pleased that I decided to try this product on the enthusiastic recommendation of Geoff Kait at Machina Dynamica. He has never steered me wrong in the past and I now consider this to be an "essential" tweak.
For those given to making a priori judgements, please start another thread to voice your uninformed displeasure.
Product Weakness: None in terms of performance. It would be expensive to treat an entire CD collection. Product Strengths: Vastly superior to non-treated discs, providing for an exceptionally more believable presentation.
