That is a stunning finish - what is that called. My dealer has a catalog of finishes - the catolog alone cost my dealer over a $120.00. But the binder had the actual piece of coated wood - not a picture the actual piece of wood - They had something like 20 different finishes you could order(LOL Peter doesn't even provide it to the dealers for free). This one reminds me of a cherry wood version of the poplar burl - very nice looking. DO you have the AN E stands(Sound Anchors)?
I recently heard several of the AN E's again - Do you have an AN amp to run them? I was wondering about synergy today that the SET may suit AN speakers best because of the finely tuned damping of the speakers. Tube amps typically have much less damping factors than SS amps - and I was wondering maybe SS is overdamping these speakers. AN has everything working in unison and you throw sommthing like Bryston at em and you have a veritable disaster. So I'm not surprised that SS sounds like utter crap at any price against something not THAT expensive like the OTO SE - at least on AN speakers. Ahh System synergy.
The E/Sec TT3(Voyd Reference)/CD3.1 (M4? and Power amps Conquest?) based system I heard is still easily the best music reproducer I have heard. I've heard the big B&W Nautilus with the required 8 Power Mono amps(classe) and spme of the big JM Labs, and ML's and a Wilson's/Krell/Levinson set-up etc.
Damn fine speaker mate - lucky SOB.
