Where the materials are sourced, wheather they be finished product or not, and or whatever price is placed on the item for sale in my opinion is not the issue. The issue is did the company in question partake in deceptive advertising practices and if so did this act influence the decision of potential buyers to purchase their product.

If RPL's value of his high priced purchase was inherent to the advertised specialized design and manufacturing skills of the vendor and was further led to believe the product in question was indeed designed and manufactured by the vendor and it was these representations which influenced his purchase decision, then those above claims are material represenations. If, as it may or not turn out, the product is essentially a mass-market low cost item it's design and manufacture not influenced in any material way by the specialized skills of the vendor in question then this original represenation starts to slide to the mis-representation mis-leading side of things. That is against the law


Anyways, that's my take on it.
