If it is in the family room, then she has final say. EX- last year I was asked if it were possible to reduce the clutter around our TV.Translation, she wanted to see fewer components out in the open. So I had tacit approval to buy something new. I did, A Marantz progressive scan DVD changer- to replace our Laser Disk player, DVD player and CD changer. 1 component in place of 3....
I also have a dedicated listening room, where she has no influence on equipment purchases.
I do have to add that way back when, I set up a seperate bank account to fund my hobby. She had noticed the accumulation of equipment and asked how much I had spent. Thanks to Quicken I was able to tell her. She then asked if I had considered selling anything that I was not useing. So began my stereo account.
