Question to all: Can you wife hear a difference at all?

I asked my wife if she could hear the difference between just the TV speakers upstairs and my main system. She was watching the A-Team upstairs, then she came downstairs to watch it with me. She said that she could not hear a difference. I am assuming that she is just trying to be a sweet wife with no interest in my toys, but she really claimed to not hear a difference. She can sing well so she is not tone deaf. She is not a musician, but she married one. Is this normal? Is this possible?
