There were various Monster brand power strips on a table along with a black box that had what appeared to be a mV readout LCD and small speaker. The demo power strip was a high end aluminum model with two groups of isolated power outlets on the left and right sides. For the demo, the sales rep zero'd the reading on the LCD display then plugged in a small cellphone rapid charger on the same side of the power strip as the black box. The mV reading went up several hundred mV on the meter along with a loud amount of digital noise hashing from the speaker. He then moved the rapid charger to the other side of the power strip and the digital noise stopped and mV readout dropped significantly.
I think the purpose of his demo was to show isolation between the power outlets and to show that by using their power strip one could isolate noise from one stereo component from leaking through the AC power connections into another component.
