I'm single.I don't spend a significant amount of my income on my audio habit - I have a ridiculously fun car that picks my wallet each month for me. Before buying the car, however, I bought the best equipment that I could reasonably afford, and now, instead of spending money on hardware, I spend time tweaking what I have. I think it sounds pretty damn good right now, but I know it can still continue to sound better. My CD collection grows slowly, but steadily.
My GF loves music as much as I do and will spend hours sharing the sweet spot with me. She also loves to watch and help me tweak - she was even willing to suit up and assist me with the fiberglass rolling portion of tube trap construction.
Sorry for the long winded answer to some simple questions!
