I had such a good result with my first one that I bought another for my TV and DVD player.FWIW, the monster should not be used with an amp, just the source components. It chokes the current entering the amp to produce the sound you described.
Also, line conditioners are extremely system dependent, moreso IMO than many source components, so across the board recommendations are pretty useless.
FWIW, the improvement in my system was literally staggering, like upgrading each source component to the next higher level. Not bad for $200.
