Re: Blue Circle Audio mr 800 & mr 1200 Power Conditioner/Surge Protector

Bob:

Thanks for the reply.

I sympathize with your attitude about reviewing cables and PLCs. Three years ago we moved into a new home and for the first time I had a dedicated sound room. I spent the first year upgrading components and wrestling with speaker placement and room acoustics. I then turned to cables and thought it would take me a couple of months to settle on what I wanted. In fact, it took me over two years before I settled on Sahuaro ICs and speaker cables from Alan Kafton and Bob Crump’s power cables.

I agree with you about Bob’s Silvers. They are really outstanding. I’ll be interested to see how you like the Elrod PCs, but maybe its just that I’m getting older or closer to retirement, but $1500 plus for power cords, coupled with frequent updates, just doesn’t appeal to me much. I really like Bob’s approach. He seems to produce product that he thinks is the best he can produce within reason and at a sensible price. His product line remains fairly stable, which suggests to me he doesn’t come to market with something new until he believes he has made a substantial step forward.
