Celluloid,This is a thoughtful review of a new product from a great company. I have been a big fan of Jeb's and Joule Electra, since hearing his tube equipment at the HE show in NYC last May, though product costs have kept me from a purchase. I almost purchased a used LA100 recently, oh well sometime in the future.
The 6C33B SET design employed by Joule appears address some of concerns, primarily extended lower and higher frequency response, when paired with modestly efficient speakers.
The new Joule LA-200 linestage preamp recently received raves in Positive Feedback Magazine. If you get a chance to hear the Stargate - LA-200 pairing, please give us an update. If Jeb is listening, I hope he will consider rooming with w/ Merlin at the 2002 HE Show and showing off the Stargate - LA-200 combination with the Merline Millenium/BatteryBAM.
I may just have to get a second job, break down, and buy some of his fabulous equipment.
