The is much mis-information about this: SOME high speed rectifiers can make some noise, BUT normal rectifiers make lots of noise. This is because they do NOT turn off quickly, even at a 100Hz rep rate. The best recifiers are called fast SOFT RECOVERY diodes. They do NOT ring, and they turn off fast, best of both worlds. Snubbing caps can help to minimize rectifier noise, but then they will pass RFI into the audio component.
