Then again, all I need is a brightly glowing 811A with only the filament lit to really make a plain box exciting. I think I'll try it with an old Japanese amp. All I need to do is find an amp with room for a filament tranny, punch a hole in the top cover of the amp and put a tube socket in it. I'll bet I could even convince some folks that it sounds better!
