My Denon Dac sounds fine,,,

209.240.220.197

Hi,,,

I coated the BB pcm 1702 dac chips, in my Denon Dac, this Sun. I only did the dac chips, because I wanted to hear exactly what it did to them, & because I will be changing the opamps out, soon.
At first I was a sissy about how much to use. I only used a very light coat, & only got some minimal change. I talked to Charles, & he said that I needed to make sure that the solution was really well mixed &then really coat the top of the dac chip. So, I painted the little suckers. Now, the tops were compltely black.
The change in sound is immediate & signifigant. It is very "soft", with the bass "muddy" & the mid/high transients suppressed. This is NORMAL, it means it has been applied correctly. After (3) days, the bass has firmed up, the transients are coming back (slowly), & the digital edge is gone. ... I can't wait for the (3) weeks curing time to work its magic. It's interesting to hear the spectral balance moving towards goodness. Will report after the curing time is finished.

Richard :)
