Dear John,It was me that Leon from Soundlabs emailed about your problem.
I stand by what I said, the symptoms you describe sound very much like the kind of problem you get when the input impedance is lower than it should be.
The valve is not worn and the unit is not faulty, what you hear is either the above or a severe clash between two opposing design philosophies.
In my honest opinion, I do not think that the DAC One.1x Signature is suited to a system you have there, pure and simple, it was made to comply with the exact opposite design philosophy to the rest of the components that you have and I think what you hear reflects that.
I would not advise you to change the rest of the equipment, unless you feel compelled to do so, so sell the DAC One.1x Sig. and invest the money elsewhere.
