Just a thought. You mentioned the Benchmark...If it strips the clock signal from the incoming stream and works its magic ("eliminating jitter" as they claim) on the data bits, why bother with the expense of a very low jitter card? I would suspect that the WordClock feature on the DAC-1 is there for synchronizing multiple components, not for reducing jitter in a one-to-one scenario...?
