I just realized that all along the DAC I bought two years ago (Audio Logic) has a 5-pin I2S input (it is in that slot that is labeled "optical" so I never looked). Now I'm wondering whether I should switch to I2S to take advantage of it. I'm currently using a Sonic Frontiers SFT-1 transport through the AES/EBU input but I've seen some Audio Alchemy DDS-Pro I2S-capable transports around at good prices. Has anyone put these two transports head-to-head? Would I2S be a good upgrade here (I actually think the "upgrade" may end up with negative cost since the used market prices for my current transport are actually higher)? Also, ar there other thransports I should look at? Are there any DVD transports that have I2S (or AES/EBU for that matter) Thanks. -Tom
