I'm not sure what the cost is to remaster a cd is, but it seems to me that the music industry is putting alot of effort into remastering when SACD is supposed to be the hottest thing coming around the corner. I would think that the industry would want to limit expansion rather than promote it. Maybe they're squeezing the last drop out of it.
Although I have a hefty investment in CD's, I'm not against SACD. My auditions of this format have not impressed me enough to make me anxious to invest in the technology yet, and the remastered (most) CD's sound pretty good to me.
Any thoughts?
