I have a Benchmark DAC3 HGC. Stereophile rated it as a class A+. However for me it is a no. It has some kind distortion which I can't stand with. I also have a Sony ES CD player. It is better than the Benchmark. But it is still not good enough. I also have a TDA1514A based Rotel CD player. It sounds perfect OK for me. I also have a Denafrips Pontus II DAC and a Rega DAC. I think both of them are better than Benchmark. However I really have spent much time with them so I don't want to give my judgement.
