Thanks for the Chord / Gustard comparison.Your Chord Qutest observation mirrors my own. I had one and even though I'm not into EDM I immediately noticed the Quetest was a little 'light' down in the very low mids into the bass region. It was smooth, transparent, and detailed across the board but the lack of low-end energy always bothered me. Similar experience here with the small Chord Mojo.
It comes down to personal preference and if the system is 'light' in the mids or lower freqs [vs robust or 'weighty'] that always nags at me.
Inmate Cut-Throat has the Gustard X26 Pro that he likes a lot. He also has the SMSL D400EX which is what I run most of the time.
My Qutest DAC from a while back.
Colored Gumballs. Where's my sample rate decoder ring?
Roon recognizes it. It must be a brand name DAC.
