RE: Ethernet Switch

That link doesn't tell me anything about how it would impact sound, only degradation in digital signals at high speeds. Either it gets there or it doesn't. Your DAC is NOT reading that signal, some other device is. Only the very last device sending out the signal to the actual decoding portion of the DAC is critical and this likely just a trace on a pcb. If we lost bits you wouldn't be able to read this post.

The thing is, I believe that analog cables can make a difference. If an analog signal degrades it won't be recoverable. If a digital signal degrades it'll keep trying until it gets it right and if it can't get it right it will go black, or silent, or you'll get BSOD.
