Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I would just keep your old DAC

If it works well with your current redbook files, why try to spend more money?

I use a purpose-built PC as server also, but it's mostly due to convenience and access, not sound quality really. Software/firmware/hardware implementation is so fickle, and the price of gear often does not correlate with implementation quality or sound quality. Some Chi-Fi DAC's can have better USB implementation than certain USB-Spdif converters, or vice versa.
