RE: Newbie idiot needs advice on a storage device for CDs

Have you downloaded the latest software for your player from the Marantz website? I assume you are trying to plug your NAD into your Marantz using the SP/dif connection ( co-ax). Do you have the right cable? This is a basic connection which shouldn't give problems.

As for CD storage you first need to rip the data from the CD. Even if an ipod is your favoured source you will need to get the CD information into the ipod which I think is limited to MP3 ( happy to be told otherwise).

I suggest that you browse the link as this will give you all of the basic inforamtion that you need, just keep it simple e.g. external HDD drives ( one for the CD library, one or more for backup) with a ripper and player installed on your computer and the computer connected via USB to your network player.
