Thanks for the Olive suggestion. The model you suggest is no longer available and, as far as I can see, there's no follow-up product. The Olive site seems to offer just one product and they provide virtually no information - just a photo of what looks like a wireless controller.

The product you mention seems to be an all-in-one device with things like DAC, preamp and power amp - none of which I want. I'd like just a high quality digital ripper and CD transport with AES output to my existing equipment. Best I can find is the still over-spec'd (and over-priced in my opinion) NAD M32.
