In my system, Toslink always sounded just as good a coax S/PDIF for 16/44. What do you notice about Toslink that is less than stellar?
Nowadays I don't use any connections other than USB flash drives directly connected to my two digital players. I have an Oppo BDP-105D and I play digital music from USB flash drives. I also have a TASCAM DA-3000 that I play digital music from USB flash drives, too. Most of the digital I play is hi-res 24/96 and 24/192 as well as DSD 2.8-MHz and DSD 5.6-MHz. I play all my digital from USB flash drives connected directly to either my Oppo or my TASCAM.
