RE: New to DACs here...for better sound, get better CD player, or get a DAC for current player?

Thanks for the info, most of which is unfortunately over my head. But I am trying to learn.

My receiver is a Denon X5200, which is a 2014 model and is supposed to have pretty high tech DACs. Also, Denon has a feature known as Denon Link, which I assume is designed to reduce jitter, along the lines of the Sony and Pioneer. However, in order to use it, I would have to buy the Denon universal disc player that also employs Denon Link.

One problem for me is that people are telling me that in order to play my SACDs on a DAC, I would need to rip them all to a pc. I don't care to spend that much of my time doing that. I'd like to find a way to just put them in the Oppo and send the SACD to a DAC, but I'm told that SPDIF cannot carry it, and the Oppo does not have a USB output, by which I could connect to the DAC.
