I did own the CD192 for a long time - it had a good midrange, and the treble and lower end wasn't what is now state of the art - and the special "you are there" with good reproduction.
The biggest strength of the Cary was the timing, transients and treble - and of course, they gave the end user all kinds of ways of changing up the sample rates, etc. I love the idea, but can't help thinking it is like the "sport shift" automatic transmissions - a bit fiddly and usually left in a default.
