Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I seem to lose my audio perspective glossing over PC Audio

The convenience of the Squeezebox has the system running more than ever which is a very good thing. The second I stop and listen, the flat sound of my digital setup reminds me of the work it needs.

The moment I begin my search for a decent sounding sub $1K DAC I get caught up on those other performance issues. Just a few nights ago while trying learn what is S/PDIF, Toslink or Coaxial, I found myself drilling down to the effects cable termination has on the reflection of the digital stream. Careful Vic, your getting too close, you might catch another audiophilic virus.

OMG, the apparent delicacy of digital had me looking at my turntable as if it were Fred and Wilma's spinning rock with the woodpecker tonearm. A quick shake of the noodle and put the computer to sleep, I gotta decide on something and maintain perspective, 'it's only digital,' no offense.
