Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

If you think Vinyl is better that digital..

Then you are one who is dreaming. If one listens to classical music (espcially symphonic type), vinyl has TOO many limitaions.

If high background noise, pops, clicks, inner groove distorion, limited dynamic range, wow, flutter, cartridge alignmet problems, record wear (I could on) is what floats your boat, more power to you. Rock, pop type music (that provide a constant level of signal) can sound quite nice on vinyl, but classical, FURGETABOUTIT!! You have to suspend befief in physics to buy into the vinyl over digital when it comes to classical reproduction. In fact, a spectrum analyzer on the output from the two diffferent sources will prove this.

The Oppo BD-95 with the Modwright tube up will compete with digital rigs costing thousdands more. You should listen for yourself. I didn't think the Modwright Oppo units could sound that good until I heard one.

So, in the end, it's readily apparant we shall agree to disagree on this. Each listener will have to make up their own minds on this. I can tell you that I have had number of audio buffs over (who are vinyl people) who said they will have to re-think the entire digital arguement after hearing the most recent Modwright/Oppo offerings.
