Hi Bob,

There are 2 things that can cause skipping: the laser being out of alignment and the PS1 getting too hot. Before you try doing anything else make sure the unit is used in a well ventilated place and is sitting up on tip toes that don't block the vents on the underside. That will cure 99% of the skipping issues. If you're in the 1% that still has problems with skipping then you might have to realign the laser. Search on the web, there's an article on how to do it yourself, and if I remember correctly its not hard to do.
