Here is a thread on audiocircle I have been following. It is meant for the paradisea but constantine owners chime in, and since the constantine is basically the same unit but without a tube buffer I thought it would be good to post it.I have an MHDT Dialogue II, and I suppose it could be described much in the way you described yours but with a bit less possible detail since it is a 16bit unit. It is very "analog" and the sound improves quite a bit when I use a monarchy DIP so I would say that your transport quality is going to directly effect what kind of sound that you get.
