I see what you're stating..... I had one of the very first units out of the factory (with the swapped channel markings). There was no semblance whatsoever to the "HF artifacts" of ASRC. The top was a clean as a DAC could be.

I didn't realize there was a change to the unit itself. I thought it was a text clarification.

It looks like what happened is you ordered an "original" unit (without ASRC in "normal" modes), and unsuspectingly received a "revised" unit (which *may* now use ASRC). But you chose that unit expressly because it did *not* use ASRC under normal conditions.

Do you notice a "noise" or "haze" in the highs, by chance? Or does the sound seem pristine up there?

If I were you, I'd try to find someone with an earlier DA10, and request to borrow it, to find out if the sound actually did change. Or request Lavry to roll back the "revision" of your unit.
