... you'd probably be best off going with Denon - they have a very short "time-to-market" with new technologies and their gear, while maybe not up there with some of the "audiophile" brands, usually delivers on the sonics better than most of the others.

I've got two Denon systems (study 2.1 audio-only and 5.1 HT) and am very happy with their performance in both "usages".

Denon are also making a "return" to the upper market in 2-channel and the reception from the UK audio press has been full of praise.
